The village produces a small amount of electricity by means of methane. It doesn't smell so great, but it seems to work fine. There is an interesting batch of contraptions that funnel cow urine and dung into a series of tubes on the ground made of thick plastic tarp. The methane is then collected in a big balloon and distributed to nearby houses. Amazing!
